LibraryHR is led by Jay Turner, an award-winning librarian and in demand HR and organizational development consultant with over two decades of experience. Jay has spent his career helping organizations define and refine strategy, develop talent, execute major projects, and grow leaders across multiple sectors. His passion for learning, leadership, and workforce development fuels every project he takes on, ensuring that libraries have the tools, systems, and support they need for the 21st century.
Named a "Mover & Shaker" by Library Journal, Jay is recognized for designing innovative, empowering programs that engage employees, improve operations, and foster collaboration. His ability to bridge the worlds of libraries, HR, and organizational strategy allows him to provide solutions that are both visionary and practical, ensuring libraries stay strong and adaptable in a changing world.
Before launching LibraryHR, Jay held leadership roles in HR and training at libraries, nonprofit, and for profit organizations. These experiences shaped his expertise in talent development, performance management, and strategic planning, giving him a deep understanding of what it takes to build a high-performing workforce. Now, through LibraryHR, he brings that expertise to libraries across the country, helping them navigate the complex challenges of hiring, training, leadership development, and workplace culture.
Based in Kingsport, Tennessee, Jay brings the same passion for learning, problem-solving, and leadership to both his professional work and personal interests. Whether he's helping libraries level up their teams or leveling up in his favorite RPG, Jay is always focused on strategy, growth, and making a difference.
